Mr. Evans is lauded entrepreneur with successes in the technology, music & entertainment, finance and human capital industries. He is currently a co-founder and Partner in Mantis Venture Capital, a VC opportunity fund in partnership with The Chainsmokers, President of Buskin Records, an independent record label he launched in 2011 and Bassline Management an artist management firm. Evans label and management firm launched the careers of multiple artists including the international star Andra Day.
In 2011 Evans took his brick and mortar entrepreneurial skills into the technology space as he co-founded TigerText the first controlled and impermanent mobile communication company. TigerText (rebranded TigerConnect) is currently the leading secure mobile communication application in the healthcare industry. TigerText has raised over $100 million to date. While Evans was leading TigerText he helped incubate Whisper App within the company. Later that year Whisper was spun out of TigerText and valued at over $100 million.
The acquisition of Orion International was completed in 2007 in partnership with Centre Partners with Evans sourcing and leading the acquisition. Orion is primarily dedicated to finding permanent placement civilian opportunities for exiting junior military officers, enlisted technicians and military healthcare professionals. Orion has placed over 50,000 former-military personnel with more than 4,000 different corporations. Mr. Evans served as Orion International’s Executive Chairman since 2007 - 2016.
Mr. Evans additional successes include On Assignment (NASDAQ: ASGN) where from 1994-1999 he ascended to become Senior Vice President and General Manager of the specialty staffing company. His responsibilities included developing and managing the corporate support, business development, training, mergers & acquisitions, and operational aspects of the organization. During his tenure On Assignment grew from $35,000,000 to over $125,000,000 in annual revenue (with a corresponding stock price increase from $5.50 to $34.50).
In late 1999 Mr. Evans took a controlling interest in OnStaff as President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Evans was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s vision, creating the business model, sales, marketing and national expansion. He grew OnStaff from a $5,000,000, 3 office local staffing firm to a $100 million revenue national player with 40 offices in major cities throughout the country. In late 2002 he sold OnStaff to Hall Kinion (NASDAQ: HAKI), and joined the HAKI management team as Senior Executive Vice President of Operations. In 2004 he helped complete the sale of HAKI to KForce (NASDAQ: KFRC).
Mr. Evans has served on the President's Commission for White House Fellows, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
Mr. Evans holds a B.A. from Emory University and an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He currently resides in Calabasas, CA with his wife and 3 children.
