Albert joined Burda in 2017 and heads Burda Principal Investments' Singapore office. Previously he was at GREE Ventures from 2014 to 2017, where he led the fund's investment team in Southeast Asia and India as Principal while working closely with many of its portfolio companies including Kudo, Berrybenka, and Bukalapak. Prior to this, he served as a Director at Lazada Group, Southeast Asia’s largest ecommerce retailer, helping build the company’s Marketplace business across the region. Other professional experience includes co-founding an online menswear company in the US called AlbertMing Inc. and spending 5 years as a consultant at Monitor Group across the US and Asia. He completed his MBA at the University of California, Berkeley and studied at the University of Pennsylvania with dual degrees in economics and systems engineering. He currently sits on the board of Priceza, Zilingo, and Carsome.

Lucas is a co-founder of Carousell and oversees Engineering. Since the launch of Carousell in August 2012 together with co-founders Marcus Tan and Quek Siu Rui, Lucas has been working closely with the engineering team on technical, architecture and data direction and strategies. He is dedicated to building a team of world-class engineers to keep Carousell at the forefront of the industry. He is also passionate about product development, iOS development, and applying data science to solve problems at a large scale.

Prior to Carousell, Lucas spent some time as a software engineer at RedBeacon (acquired by Home Depot). Lucas read Computer Engineering and Entrepreneurship at the National University of Singapore and Stanford University (under the NUS Overseas College Program in Silicon Valley, California).

Gary focuses on bringing Lalamove to anyone who needs fast and simple delivery services. He and his team has launched Lalamove across Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, and Vietnam. They have also helped businesses like IKEA & Google to create value to their customers through on-demand delivery.

Prior to Lalamove, Gary worked with businesses in service and retails industries on marketing and customer experience in his roles with Groupon & Hong Kong Quality Assurance Association.

Ryosuke is a Managing Director and CEO of SBI Ven Capital, a private equity that invests in financial services and technology sectors across Asia. Ryosuke has strong combined expertise in the sector of financial services and ICT through his investment, operational and entrepreneurial experience. Ryosuke has been engaged in venture capital investments in South East Asia region with SBI Group since 2012 and also serves as the director of various regulated financial institutions in the region. Before that, in 2009, Ryosuke launched and managed the Wall Street Journal’s Japanese language online edition as the Managing Director at Wall Street Journal Japan K.K. Ryosuke started his career in ad agency and moved on to a hedge fund in Japan.

He holds a MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tokyo.

Eric Cheng co-founded Carsome in 2015 and is the CEO of the Kuala-Lumpur based startup. He started his entrepreneurial journey in 2008 when he and a few college friends started a print magazine business. During his second year earning as an accounting student, he dropped out of university and joined interactive online marketing company, Innity. There, he focused on digital advertising and online campaigns for major agencies including GroupM and IPG Mediabrand. To refocus his energy on starting his own business, Eric left Innity in 2011 after 18 months and started Clicks Communications, an ad network and creative agency, with two industry veterans. Within its first year, Eric sold his ownership back to the other co-founders, believing he had mistakenly left his previous role at Innity prematurely. After returning to the firm, Eric continued to lead its digital advertising team and focused on improving global branding campaigns for his clients.
